About Daniel Baumgartner

Daniel Baumgartner, who resides in Sparta, NJ, is a feelance photographer and also a member of the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council. He photographs with an unwavering gaze, striving to capture images which communicate, inspire and connect with people on a basic emotional level.

Born in Switzerland and raised in New Jersey, Daniel graduated from NYU with degrees in Finance and International Business, enabling him to pursue a (left brain oriented) career in asset management. Since then, he has has been able to balance his "day job" with his artistic interest in photgraphy, inspired by his father, himself a lifelong photo enthusiast.

Late in 2011, he started entering photo competitions and selling his works in Sussex County, NJ. During 2012, he had been honored with two awards, the first of which was for "Loophole Over Red", which had been selected as the image for the cover of the 2012-2013 Century Link phonebook for Sparta, NJ, and his image, "Reaching" which had placed second in the black and white category at the 2012 New Jersey State Fair, Augusta, NJ.
